The scarlet pimpernel of tripped out acid house returns once again, following hot on the heels of ?Come Down? which came out at the end of last year. ?Be my Chicago? is taken from Subjekt?s forthcoming ?Direction Correction? LP and once again proves that there is still some truly innovative club music being produced out there. The keywords here are minimal, jacking, funky and warped. Pure basement beats for those hot and sweaty 4am sessions when things are never quite as they seem!
Things are taken deeper still with the Atjazz remix who keeps the 4 on the floor but goes on much more of an early 90?s Mr Fingers style jam. Rolling beats, lush pads and a simple melody make up this beautiful version and confirm Atjazz as a producer who can turn his hand to any style with excellent results.
Last up is the Gerd remix who toughens things up for a pounding beats n bass feast. Gerd is responsible for running the recently quality 4Lux label based in Holland and has been busy remixing the likes of Phil Asher, Ennio Morricone and Hubtone.
