Respected French DJ and producer, Thomas Arroyo aka Laroye moved to the UK in 2015, drawn by the boundary pushing dance and electronic music scenes here. Laroye has released music exploring a variety of different genres from broken beat on the early days of Faces Records and MCDE, through funk and boogie on Midnight Riot, Glitterbox and beyond. With Qwestlife, his boogie and Disco-funk project he released a debut Album "Prophecy".
A brilliant played and produced opus that joyously flits between revivalist disco-soul, synth-heavy boogie and, slick nu-funk including "Fever", a superb chunk of disco-rap featuring none other than Siedah Garrett, Sugarhill Gang and Furious Five members Melle Mel and Scorpio.
Laroye released since 2019 some essential deep & afro house cuts on Compost, Bayacou, Freerange, Foliage, Makin Moves, King Street & Atjazz records With rotations on Worldwide fm, playlisted on BBC1, BBC6 and supported by Natasha Diggs, Gilles Peterson, Aroop Roy, Craig Charles, Laurent Garnier, Louie Vega, Jimpster, Honey dijon and many more.. His new Album “ Let it go “ released on Local Talk in May 2023, showcased once more the high musicality of his productions being acclaimed by finest name in the game.
As a multi instrumentalist and studio stakhanovist Laroye is offering a total new experience in spiritual house. Fusioning heavy bass, latin rythms, electronic gadgetery and slide guitar. It's a journey within different worlds, traveling through cosmic afrobeats, Soulful deep techno & future jazz .. Playing on stage alongside guest vocalists and musicians to provide a full & lively experience. In a more ambient field Tom Laroye Experiment, explores textures & expands time and space, by programming cinematic modular sounds and playing floating lapsteel & slide guitar melodies to create transcending soundscapes.
